Spring Home Maintenance

Ensure that the last of the winter blast have passed and weather is unlikely to drop and remain below freezing for two or three days before removing any freeze protection on piping or plants.

• Remove covers and freeze protection from outdoor pipes and hose bibs.

• Schedule a Spring return-to-service check with pool company. Have pool returned to normal operation, timer(s) reset and pool treated and ready to swim.

• Schedule a Spring return-to-service check with lawn sprinkler company. Check for underground leaks, missing or damaged sprinkler heads. Reset timer(s) and prepare for normal operation.

• Remove covers, tree wrap and frost cloth from trees and shrubbery.  Bring potted plants outdoors and fertilize and water. Once done, add some extra mulch around the base of young trees.
